Framework:

Re-Imagining Shared Space: My ancestral mud house serves as the foundation for Prayogillu, alongside other rural mud houses that function as shared, multipurpose spaces. In any rural Indian mud house, shared spaces are used for cooking, socializing, children's play, hosting guests, reading, sleeping, and dining. The courtyard or veranda, in particular, becomes the heart of the house, where families gather to share meals, participate in community events, and engage in storytelling. These spaces are fluid, with functions often overlapping— a room used for living during the day may become a bedroom at night. This fluidity in space and function within my ancestral home provides the conceptual framework for Prayogillu. It envisions itself as a shared, multipurpose platform where resources and knowledge are not confined to the local community but are extended to urban and global audiences, fostering a deeper sense of interconnectedness.

Methodology:

Prayogillu’s methodology is deeply rooted in the reimagining of "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam," a profound Sanskrit verse from the Maha Upanishad that translates to "The world is one family." This philosophical concept emphasizes interconnectedness and collectiveness, and togetherness, fostering a sense of unity among diverse cultures and communities. By embodying this philosophy, Prayogillu bridges the gaps between rural, urban, and global audiences, creating a global community ethos that celebrates human diversity. Central to this mission is the belief that meaningful inter-human interactions can foster inclusion and harmony. Through digital conversations, individuals from various backgrounds share their experiences and perspectives, enriching one another's understanding and appreciation of diversity.

Integral to Prayogillu’s approach are activities designed to cultivate community engagement and collaboration. Workshops serve as platforms for skill sharing, allowing participants to explore new artistic practices and learn from one another. Social and cultural performances showcase the richness of different traditions, while community-based artist residencies encourage collaboration between artists and locals, resulting in projects that reflect shared values. Sustainable employment initiatives promote local craftsmanship, creating economic opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen community ties. Additionally, everyday life activities, traditional games, and informal education reinforce the spirit of community by encouraging participation and preserving cultural heritage. In essence, Prayogillu embodies the spirit of "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam" by fostering interconnectedness and embracing diversity, working collectively toward a more equitable and harmonious community.
